mr healy, the halfway house comander, gets a concusion when he trys to stop a fight on the fire escape. the boys take him to the hospital and act as if healy was still there. they planed to only do it until dawn when they hoped he would wake up, but he dosent for two weeks. but when he dose wake up he has no memory of anything in his life or the halfway house.
